Making it Matter
Mary Jane Baxter is an author, maker and social entrepreneur with a passion for turning trash into treasure. Whether she’s stitching a dress from a pair of old curtains or revamping a shop on a shoestring budget, she has a passion for re-using existing resources wherever possible. A former BBC correspondent, she is also a qualified milliner, and once swapped a night in a hotel for handmade hat whilst filming for BBC’s Newsnight programme! Mary Jane’s new book Sew on the Go will be published on May 27th 2021 by Unbound.
"In Sew on the Go, Mary Jane reminds us of the huge spiritual comfort and joy in using our hands to mend, glue, darn, re-invent and re-imagine our surroundings ... we can all make beauty with what we already have to hand" Emma Thompson
