Upcycled tapestry brooch
This brooch is handmade using tapestry wools sourced from abandoned needlepoint projects mostly found in charity shops and markets. This brooch measures 7 x8 cm and is constructed by weaving the wool onto a bespoke wire frame. The technique used is based on a 1930's flower dome that Mary Jane was given by a friend who bought it at an antiques market. Mary Jane unpicked one of the flowers to try and find out how the flowers were made. Each brooch is completely unique and makes a special gift. Has a metal brooch pin at the back complete with safety catch.
